I have always said that we should band together and try to bring down monopolies like twitter. We can either try to build our own twitter or tell people about alternatives like gab.

what are you on about? twitter's statement says they want to prevent the spread of misinformation, and you lot clutch your pearls about it because misinformation is the only way right wing ideology even has a chance of remaining "competitive".

Facts aren't the only thing being talked about on twitter. Sometimes they ban or silence people for having a certain narrative or a different interpretation of events.

Blatant disinformation would be claiming that Hillary Clinton had permission to store classified documents on a private email server. An economist claiming that the economy is in a recession, on the other hand, would be an opinion. And yet the latter is censored and the former is not.

It would be great if misinformation could be adjudicated by an impartial third party, but that takes credibility, and social media companies have none.

I have always said that twitter is in no position to judge what is disinfo and what isn't. We get it, spreading disinfo is bad, but the crux of the matter is, who gets to decide whether something is disinfo?

Who cares about twitter?
Musk already proved it's a non sequitur, full of propaganda bots.

Some of us want twitter to fail, or at least lose its grip. We don't want such an evil entity around to influence the public.
