Exactly, they are massivly investing and developing their navy which should be ready in 3-4 years time and that's when they'll try to pull it off. There won't be a full scale war.

I think this is the exact reason why they would love to annex Taiwan. Yes, there's a ton of historic and symbolic meaning behind "reuniting" the PRC and ROC, but it would come with great economic gain for China on top of that.

China will never invade Taiwan. They will try to use soft power to integrate them but it's simply never going to happen. China will relinquish its claim just like the British did to its territories.
