There are at least 700 quintillion planets in the universe. That's 700 quintillion rolls of the dice for intelligent life. Out of the dice rolls that landed on intelligent life, not one has developed the technology and the desire to visit our planet or to communicate with us? That's absurd. Therefore, they're either already visiting us or they don't exist.

Now, there does seem to be something that is interacting with us. One problem. The thing that has been interacting with us doesn't behave in a way that one would expect another intelligent and biological entity to behave. See Jacques Vallee's work for more information.

It's not retarted. There has been far too much evidence to ignore. The aliens have made known which star system they come from so there is no guessing.
Far more plausible to conceptualise an advanced race of people creating life then a magic wizard in the sky somewhere. Our own technology is quickly approaching those levels where we ourselves will be capable to create a genetic race of people if we wanted to.
