No. I'm asking if there's a woman who has a miscarriage, it's not like people are telling the woman, that it was only clumps of cells that they've lost but it's often referred to as a baby (a human life).

So it got me thinking if that value of the fetus or clump of cell or zygote or whatever you want to call "it," is it given the title or recognition of "a human life" when the woman who is hosting it, wanted "it" to be a baby.

Hope that makes sense.

We also don't hold a funeral. There's an in-between where it has more value than cells, and less value than a person.

Is there a word for that? I'd like to use the correct terminology when it's possible.

As far as the funeral goes, I've attended one. But it was a pretty late stage in the pregnancy and had to be c-sectioned out. Very sad =[

No term as far as I know. We could just call it a "proto-person" or something. Where it gradually developes into a person.

Hmm, like a "pre-human"?

If I go to the salon to get a haircut, that’s different from someone shaving my head at night. One is a personal decision, the other is assault. My hair is my property, and it’s my choice what I do with it. My hair, like a fetus, isn’t independent life.

But what if your hair had its own heartbeat?

So that's what I'm asking. Does the woman's choice in the matter is what gives value to the "thing" that is growing in her? I'm not trying to pose these questions as a "gotcha" questions but I'm in a position to learn.

I see your analogy but to compare a fetus with hair is a bit misleading. Because if you grow your hair predictably let's say 9 months, it's just longer but still remains to be hair. Where as the fetus in 9 months (supposedly because this seems to be a debate too) a whole different thing all together (from fetus to a human baby).

Sure, it doesn't matter what we call it. People can pretend all they want that they consider life to begin at conception, but that's just a lie. There is no human alive that would save a jar of fertilized eggs over a living 3 year old, and there's no conservative alive who would avoid deporting a woman on the basis that she might be pregnant.

We can debate where that starts, but only the dishonest argue it really starts in full at conception.
