This doesn't make sense. If I see a man and a dog, and I say to myself, one of them is a man and the other one is a dog, I am merely "doing it for my own brain's satisfaction"? And if I want a baby, I should try and copulate with the dog because "categories are mere social constructs"?

You are making a jump in the middle. What we call something has no bearing on the physical reality behind it. It's the physical reality that determines what you should do for a certain outcome. Whether or not we call something a dog has no bearing on anything. You put certain animals in a bucket called "dog" in your mind, but that didn't change anything about them. They are still the same animals.

Not sure what you are trying to get at. Are you saying that all categories are inherently meaningless and we shouldn't put things into categories at all?

Nope. Categories are very useful. But we should understand that they are constructs and don't confuse the category we create for reality.

A social construct is nothing more than an idea that has been accepted by people in a society. Therefor everything that more than 1 person in a society agrees on and accepts is a social construct in some way.

With that being said a male is a male and a female is a female. Period, idc how many of you hippies think otherwise.

I agree that they are constructs, however they are also based off of physical reality. For example, man and dog are two categories that humans have constructed, however in reality, they are also different and distinct. The fact they have been put into man-made categories does not change the fact they are separate entities.

they aren't constructs, gender as a construct is a construct because gender is is anatomical, you can identify gender based on bone structure or ancient remnants, etc. Gender roles or expectations are social constructs.

Even with out words you can visually discern gender especially to a trained eye. advancements in plastic surgery is merely a magic trick
