I agree that they are constructs, however they are also based off of physical reality. For example, man and dog are two categories that humans have constructed, however in reality, they are also different and distinct. The fact they have been put into man-made categories does not change the fact they are separate entities.

gender is is anatomical, you can identify gender based on bone structure or ancient remnants, etc.
Gender roles or expectations are social constructs.Even with out words you can visually discern gender especially to a trained eye. advancements in plastic surgery is merely a magic trick
