The reasons masks are different from all of "those things" are several:

-reasonable people can clearly see that the mask, which we now know are functionally useless, are nothing more than a symbol of compliance and submission
-masks cover your face, an even further dehumanizing factor in our already very dehumanizing, atomizing world where you are largely disconnected from your fellow human, when before at least you could see a face
-the religious zealotry of the pro maskers is obviously off-putting

here is some things to think about the next time you go grocery shopping. they where/are forced to wear it day after day the whole shift. imagine those things get a bit overripe?

one can stay out of the public bathroom. but now with all the gross mask wearing they bring the bathroom to you.
think about it next time you go grocery shopping and all the employees being forced masked and they all use the same bathroom micro droplets carry feces that get imbedded in the mask and they touch all over the mask and they touch all over everything else including your food also blowing literal shit all over the place after its been transferred to the mask.
