There's such a list of premiers already lining up to denounce this and even his own party members weren't advocating this or were saying it was unthinkable and unjustifiable. He didn't slowly ramp up into this, he disappeared for a week and returned with an abrupt first-option-last-option and protecting-your-rights-by-revoking-your-rights. I'd gander that its actually imaginable that the backlash reaches enough force to lead to Trudeau's resignation by the end of this saga. How do you go back from "I invoked martial law to suppress peaceful political protests"? Its a mix of crossing the Rubicon and raping a vestal virgin. All the controversy, all the escalation, none of the justification, none of the benefit.
Most people regard Trudeau as a doofus and man-child, put this isn't going to be remembered as idle petulance.
