I appreciate the concern.

Actually have picked up shifts at that 2nd job and Spoke to the bank.

Have somewhat more of a plan now. That thread was very helpful to get my head in the right place. Just adding time to the equation now.

This thread is part of my personal learning and am usually curious about interactions online. This is a free hobby so I'm gonna keep it. haha.

Well, you're most certainly free to explain what is exactly false about what I said. I welcome it, honestly, as the exchange of ideas is something seemingly lost in modern day.

However, simply calling things fallacies doesn't make them false.

Perhaps a few starter questions will get us moving:

- scientists have spent decades trying to disprove the higher power theory by finding life on other planets -- I have not read of any success stories -- have you? Theories such as possible, unconfirmed life on Europa unfortunately wouldn't qualify.

- which other planet has the correct mixture of atmospheric gases to support the vast life forms we have on earth, without any special technology needed (mars may hit 65-70 during the day sometimes, but there is no air to breathe and at night with no atmosphere, it drops into the negative-one-hundreds.

- what facts have evolution theorists provided that negate the existence of a higher power without question?

I eagerly await your response - I am genuinely interested in hearing your side, so please feel free to share in more detail :)

you know whats funny about that? if they did find life on another planet that would just make things worse for them.

Aren't you a bit old to be believing in fairy tales?

do you have a reasoned argument or are you just going to prance around saying teehee?

Sure, that thing you believe that has never had any evidence, isn't real.

I am missing the faith element. I need to know God is real. I need to KNOW the holy ghost spoke to me or touched me. I need to KNOW that was a real sign from God and not a coincidence that my brain is desperate to make sense of the situation. I do not want to trick myself into thinking I know by believing. I want to know.

Hello! I've considered myself a Christian for 15ish years.
I just quoted a piece of your post to make this a little shorter.

Thanks for posting!

For faith-building I would definitely ask God to show you that He's real. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. If able, I'd try to visit a church on one of its service times and maybe starting to read the book of John. I'm used to Sunday morning or sun/wed night.

My prayer time has often been venting or talking about what's going on in my life, perhaps just talking about what I'm happy/unhappy/indifferent about. I believe in repenting and so I'll ask to be shown things that I've done wrong, to be forgiven and be shown ways to do better moving forward. Mentioning what I'm grateful for has also been useful. Even though God already knows, or I do like to talk about things I want.

I hope something here has been useful. : )

Hello all,

I am not religious, nor would I consider myself an atheist. Agnostic for lack of a better word.

I was prompted to pray when I took a genuine interest in religion a few years back by a Jehovah witness. We spent some time talking and I made an honest to goodness attempt at a prayer, and a fully open mind and heart for a response but nothing came.

I've always just been busy and occupied and never gave religion a second thought, was curious if anyone else had difficulty becoming religious or had trouble accepting religion, or spirituality for that matter. If I try a prayer again what could I do better or different to have real results?

Do I need to be in need of something? I've recently sought help and support in my life and things are going well ( Personal trainer, therapist, nutritionist, New friends etc etc )

IS it possible to know? Is the only way to make the connection with faith? How can I become more open to being faithful Seems like a fundamental error in my survival instinct that I can't bring myself to betray my instinct of needing to know. What kind of challenge is this?

Please let me know any serious answers. Will report Troll or spam posts.

the word I would use those years ago would just be irreligious. one day I got it in my head to "find the truth of it all" never even thinking about God i started with money what it was where it came from. its a long story but i some how ended up converting to christian. I would suggest study scripture and find out what those words really mean. and there are requirements, repentance is where it starts. what/ how do you feel about repentance?

i have some posts in the science section. i think all but one is there for the sole purpose to get a person thinking.

I think you're attempting to say "evidence that meets your standards". :bonk:

Which would be a swell argument if you had any evidence at all other than "some guy said so"
