in germany its just to grab the state subsidies, people buy hybrids and drive them like normal cars ^_^


I think you will see significant advances. The argument you're using has been used a thousand times over and each time humans have found a way. I have no doubts we will see high mileage on single charges in a small form factor in the next ten years.

That problem has had solutions for like 10 years. My 2011 Toytoa Prius doesn't engage the gas part until I'm driving and it's started in -20 E Z.

Once houses have charging stations installed it will just be a matter of using some energy from the wall to warm up the engine ~5 minutes before you leave. Not that hard.

Yeah, it certainly no expert but neither is he.

This is the first time we are really pumping real money into R&D and each new generation of vehicle goes further than the next. The first protos siting at sub 50 miles and now Tesla is over 400 on an economy sized vehicle.

Great minds are being attracted to the sector with the huge influx of money. Previously many of those individuals would have been sucked into oil and gas.

Yes there is. If you get hit an SUV in a prius you're gonna have a really bad time. Plus HP and Torque > MPG
