It will indeed be interesting to see which conclusions national Dems draw from these results. If McAuliffe wins by 5+, I think they will feel vindicated and encouraged. If he loses by 5+, they will have no other choice than to pivot.
But how will they react when McAuliffe squeaks by, say, with a margin of 1 percentage point (in a state Biden carried by over 10 just a year ago) - what's gonna be the lesson in that case? Double down on their agenda, stay their current course, or pivot?
Keep in mind the age we live in. This era from 2008-2038 will go down in history as the age when US blacks moved the the democrat party to the GOP. (Latinos are shifting as well). The numbers are well documented. Every election cycle, the republican candidate takes an ever larger share of the black vote. The entire point of BLM was a failed attempt to keep blacks voting democrat.
When the transition of those voting blocs are complete, florida, georgia, pennsylvania, michigan, wisconsin, minnesota, and texas are deep deep red. New york state is purple. Virginia really doesnt matter at that point. But for the new couple of elections, it might.
Were witnessing the death of liberalism.
