The US was not in Afghanistan, interfering with Afghanistan, or even fighting Al Qaeda at the time. 9/11 was an unprovoked attack, and the reasons behind it were provided. It had nothing to do with the US "caring" about anyone else. It had to do with our way of life being 100% haram.

I think Bobb's point is that you choose to care about foreign nationals even though your government clearly shows that it doesn't care about its own people. It shows where your priority is.

I believe he is also saying that some nations will attack US regardless of whether your military bombs them or not.
