There's very little that can be done on the issue of voting rights without raising the stakes substantially. Biden's DOJ is already examining the laws of individual states and that's about all you ask for. If you want a legislative fix, Democrats are going to have to win more elections. Manchin and Sinema are providing cover for at least 5 other Democrats who really don't want to engage in filibuster reform and it seems to be working well.

These days I only follow politics through Twitter(including articles I find through that platform), and I'm constantly amazed how those on the left-of-center refuse to accept the reality on voting rights. These major overhauls are never going to pass. Part of me thinks the rhetoric surrounding the bills is extreme... like the idea that democracy is over if HR1 doesn't pass. At the same time, the GOP's descent into conspiratorial authoritarianism is real, and we very well could be faced with a situation in 2024 or after where right-wing authoritarians in a GOP state refuse to accept the results of an election, and successfully steal the presidency.
