After all of this, every hawk that tries to speak and argue for another intervention or war needs to be backhanded and told to shut the fuck up at the very minimum.
Afghanistan- thousands of American troops dead, over a trillion spent, complete failure. Look at what's happening.
Libya- complete failed state, civil war raging on for years to this day, thousands of African migrants streaming into Europe because of it
Syria- our attempt to depose of Assad? complete failure. We literally sent care packages to moderate 'rebels', just kidding terrorists, and saw our arms in the hand of al-nusra and co.
Iraq- probably best case of all, still a ton of casualties, ton of money spent and for what? To have a government that's Shiite controlled and basically an ally in the region to Iran- our number one enemy in the region.
Afghanistan is definitely a failed state. We met our military objectives with ease but we sucked ass at national building there. The best case scenario was to stay indefinitely to provide support for exterminating terrorists.
I don't think Libya was entirely our fault. If I recall correctly, the French led the effort on that one. Perhaps it would have been worse without our intervention and turned into a Syria given that Ghadaffi was about to kill thousands.
Regime change with Syria was definitely a failure. I'm not sure what the correct action would be though. Clearly, the world shouldn't sit idly while tens of thousands of people are massacred.
Iraq is better off now than under Saddam. The government is more representative of the people and you no longer have a rogue dictator.
