Theyre hardly communist. Theyre best described as state capitalism right now. Capitalist with government being involved in prominent businesses. Its similar to how Nazi Germany operated right down to the genocide lol

Exactly.

China isn't communist - they've just brainwashed their people into thinking they're communist. Their actual economy functions very much like a capitalist one, just with a fascistic dictator in charge instead of a democratic one. Communism wouldn't allow for so many Chinese Billionaires to exist - or even an elite class below the Government to exist at all.

The source comes from China's propaganda arm of the Govt - which of course can be considered the mouth of Xi big bang Mao himself.

Yeah I've seen the statements that came directly from the CCP. I'm just a little curious as to why no major outlet, fox/abc/msnbc/cnn/sky/bbc etc... is carrying this story 🤔🤔

Trump tariff idea was in the right direction but way too soft.

embargo china immediately, nothing in or out, and deal with the consequences. we can feed ourselves, they can feed themselves, lets see who lasts longer when we get EU on our side. they can trade to africa and south america and russia.

That's what I think as well.

Although I shudder at the thought of full on conflict with a nuclear power, we know how appeasement works - and if Taiwan falls, so will Japan - and inevitably Australia, either by physical force or China's sphere of influence. When that happens, we can kiss any hope of ever confronting China goodbye.

I don't think we should threaten them with nukes in return, but employ what I'm going to call the "randy's beer gut strategy" We will deploy a large military force in defense of Japan, the Philippines and AUS - with the full might of the American army if necessary. Its big, its annoying - its passive aggressively in China's face inviting them to do something about it, just like Randy's beer gut.

Unrealistic because the fallout would damage everyone and politicians don’t like rocking the boat. Plus embargoes only work on small banana republics. We don’t have the leverage to dictate this type of shit globally. 40-50 years ago maybe, not today tho.

Something like this would tank financial markets and probably lead to hundreds of billions of corporate losses honestly overall losses would be into trillions.

Politicians are also people with 401k and trust funds and seeing their investment tank 40% when they have 3 homes, kids at Columbia, etc is not something they want.

Sadly I think you're right.

What's most likely to happen (especially with Biden now in charge) is that the left wing will leverage tremendous pressure on the US Govt. to sit back and do nothing while our allies fall like dominos in the S.China sea. Our US Billionaires are already selling out hardcore to China, just like Hollywood.

we cant force allies to also block trade, but just us would be enough to send the signal. its not realistic, but its what's best.
