What you are talking about is called functional stratification and most people recognize it as the correct social order without knowing the term etc.

Ah thank you. Found something called "The Structural-Functional Theory of Social Stratification" after searching for it.

Are you aware of how the law system in the United States functions? I can legally grow, buy and smoke marijuana. I'm pretty sure if you get caught with a gram of it in Russia, you're pretty much sentenced to death.

Cannabis in Russia is illegal. Possession of up to 6 grams (or two grams of hashish) is an administrative offense, punishable by a fine or detention of 15 days. Possession of larger amounts is a criminal offense.

Cool. Cannabis in Saudi Arabia is very illegal. 47% of executions in Saudi Arabia were drug offenses as of 2015.

Not in the long run though. The Soviet Union and it's satellites collapsed economically in 89/90 and their people suffered a steeeep decline in their standard of living from which they still have not recovered to this day. Same story in Venezuela and Argentina when they tried communist or far-left economic policies.

Communism in China was an abject failure which culminated in the Great Leap Forward (into mass famine and 50m casualties) before the country embraced capitalist policies under Deng Xiaoping and started to flourish. Dito for Vietnam, which is successful with a state capitalism model similar to China's. Laos and Cambodia remain poorhouses.

USSR: Yes and that collapse and subsequent mass poverty was during the perestroika/capitalism era. Not communism. Post-capitalism.

Venezuela: It improved massively under Chavez. This cannot be disputed at all. The facts only show that it improved under Chavez. Under Maduro, different story. But compare the 1980s to the Chavez years and there's no comparison. It was worse before him.

Shame, because it was legal under Stalin and they even had cannabis growing contests.

I still don't quite understand how people honestly think that everything people contribute to society is equal and that capitalism is bad. People tend to always say that "they didn't do it right", or say that the United States or Western governments interfered. There's probably a reason that communist regimes continue to fall as fast as they go up. They're inferior to freedom, and it doesn't take long for people to realize that. Utopia does not exist, and people are corrupt.

Edit: I am not a scholar on the whole Utopian socialism stuff, or Marxism or anything. I just fail to understand how anyone believes that the fruits of flipping a burger should be given equally to someone who saves your life. I'm sure that in an absolute perfect world, anything would work perfectly. However, people are lazy and greedy, and those fuel corruption.

This is literally not communism and has nothing to do with communism. Who told you this stuff?

I mean, when you look at "long term" you have to contend with the U.S. actively destabilizing their governments.

It's hard to tell if these systems would have worked in the long term if they were actually left alone.

America did not destabilize our government and we starved to death for 50 years. so yeah, communism is the worst possible thing.
that is without counting the people they killed in different ways, the women that died from private abortions since legally abortions were forbidden, etc.

the only people advocating for communism are the ones that did not live in a communist's regime.

lol! thats why the communist regime in the ussr wanted afghanistan so bad - poppy fields galore. now why else have we spent the last 20 40 odd years trying to control that place? hmmm

as for appetite supressant so does nicotine (tobacco). saved money in undergrad smoking and skipping meals as a byproduct until they jacked up the taxes on it. quit a while ago anyway
