The hunter gatherer nature of the tribe meant that Africa was always an r-selected population.

Yes, in the ultra-long run (2100 and beyond), this issue will sort itself out. But in the near term future, there will be a population explosion in large parts of Africa. Places like Nigeria, Niger, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Tanzania or Uganda are projected to double their population until 2050.

No, not "beyond", just - at 2100. And it's not doubling but more like +70-80%.
Most important is to stabilize these countries, noticed how stabilized African countries have their birthrate going down since 90's ?

One hand saying these countries are growing too fast, "these people are stupid", while the other is pushing for destabilizing governements to steal ressources ...
