Proper nutrition education would go a long way. GP's get very little training in that area and the general public gets a lot of its information from the same companies that sell them trash food. Also, the FDA food pyramid is a disgusting joke.

It doesn't take 4 years of nutrition education to tell you that McDonalds is unhealthy.

Yeah, right, you gained 5kg per week, which is Sumo-fighter-in-mass-phase levels of weight gain.

I get that but, fast-food is only a part of the problem. The food that people prepare at home is often just as unhealthy, even though it's often disguised as a healthier option.

can't disagree there. I don't think education is the best way to that end though, sure it is a solution, but i think a better fix would be to stop allowing companies to spread misleading advertisements, but that'll never happen lmao

Whats funny is that advertisements have the reverse effect for me. If an ad comes up during my show/stream or whatever, I am significantly less likely to purchase that said item lol

Absolutely! That would also require getting the FDA back on the track of protecting the consumer and not corporations.

One thing I was surprised about is how few calories are in soda. Soda can be terrible if you drink a lot of it, but a regular size soda is less than 300 calories.

But people will eat giant bowls of pasta with far more empty calories than all the soda they drank for the week, or eat pizza with crust that is similar, etc.

We need to generally unsubsidize grains and subsidize vegetables and meat. People eat so much bread and carbs because they are cheap.

Sounds like you want to elect more leftists then.
