All this does is increase the chances of creating more losers unable to cope later on in life.
The research is pretty clear on this. Physical punishment and extreme parenting tactics just increase the chance to create more people with issues.
Millennials and Gen Z are no different than their parents/grandparents. Boomers and Gen X were breathing in lead from leaded gasoline and wherever else it was just nonchalantly being used and put into and you end up with the 70-80s crime waves and all the while probably all the emotional and physical abuse.
Kids are stupid and if you use physical punishment, you'll make them even more stupid.
too many parents have the issue of thinking a 5 year old cant be talked to to explain why something is wrong and why to not do it again. if u start that early its effective.
"if u hit them they might hit u" is as effective as hitting a child that hits u if u do it correctly. its just that hitting the kid back is easier.
start it early, verbally reinforce consequences, and you'll not only end up with a more well behaved child but a more logically thinking child.
you may also end up with a calculating, conniving, hedonistic and selfish manipulator. but it beats making a physically violent bully.
