The vast majority of Bachelors projects, and even Master's theses, are effectively a formality within the Ivory Tower that is academia. A tremendous amount of 'research' is being done that effectively results in nothing more than checking a box off a graduation requirement and padding someone's CV.

You don't learn how to produce good results until you're at least 2 years into your Ph.D. Nobody is putting a lot of resources into your bachelors or masters project, it's about learning how to do a project.

This will undoubtedly vary by field, but at least in Psychology there's a massive pressure to be published. Does it matter if your research is meaningful? Impactful? Referenced? Nope. Just get published. While I certainly do think a part of it is so that people, as you point out, get the experience, it certainly is more than that in Psychology. Our field has a massive replication crisis because there's only a demand for novel research. People would still get the same experience from doing a thesis that involves a replication study of some kind, but that is seen as less-worthy by prospective Ph.D programs. As a result, people complete projects on trivial topics that add nothing but fluff to the filing drawer.

Damn, psychology really is a garbage field. I've published in organic chemistry and cancer biology, and in both of those fields if you publish "fluff" you'll hurt yourself more than help. If your results aren't meaningfully advancing some aspect of the field you'll just piss off the person hiring you for wasting their time reading your garbage paper. If you're lucky it's so bad or worthless we'll pass it around the group for a laugh.

Depends on your degree. A private company funded my bachelor degree capstone engineering project, and cut me and my team two checks, one for each semester. Very nice fat checks.

So smart people who work 10+ years to obtain a title should not be able to use it because dumb people do not know what the title means?

spending 10 years to obtain a title means you're committed at best, doesn't say anything about how intelligent you are or even if you have useful skills outside of researching niche subjects

An MD is a physician.

Republicans are dumbfucks who confuse the broad term doctor with the specific term physician. You conservatives sure love to get outraged over nothing.

If you insist on people using your “honorary” title in every day life, you’re probably a pretentious douchebag

In some fields, all the low hanging fruit has been picked and it's simply impossible for a graduate-level student (who's not an absolute prodigy) to meaningfully advance anything.

That sounds like a miserable experience. What's the motivation?
