treating all 4 cases like the same is lazy.

The only type of targeting that would decrease death rates is increasing target practice to make headshots the norm. In which case less cops would die.

All other choices lead to more total deaths.

fr though the dude pulled out a knife, challenged the officer to "kill me", took a step forward, then got dropped. i've certainly seen more cut and dry clean shoots than this but i also know the distance he was at from him can be closed in an instant by a knife attacker so this one is honestly a bit harder to monday morning QB. officer will probably burn in current social climate, though.
