If that's true... then masks don't work. ^^

The mask has always been to protect from spreading it and not to prevent from receiving.

Literally since day 1 this has been the argument.

I'm almost impressed by how you suplexed that strawman.

Let me clarify. You would rather not wear a mask, and put others at risk of literally dying from covid 19, because "you don't want to"?

Confirm or deny if that's the hill you'd choose to die on. Figuratively and perhaps literally.

"According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), there is no evidence that wearing a face mask can worsen your asthma"

I mean if you honestly can't handle wearing a mask, when all evidence shows it has no worsening effects on asthma.
I suggest you toughen up snowflake.

No, excercise personal responsibility. Go get the vaccine. Then you don't have to worry about the virus.

I do not need to wear a mask to make you feel safe. I do not need to give up my weapons to make you feel safe. I do not need to do a damned thing to make you feel safe.

Your safety is your own problem. You do not dictate other people's lives. Once again, build a bubble, self-isolate, do whatever YOU feel you need to do.

No, I will no longer wear a mask. I complied for a year to make people "feel better" until vaccines were commonly available. There will be no further compliance. If you're too stupid to get the vaccine, you deserve to get the virus.

Ah so you wore a mask for a year? Way to go champ.

We have a responsibility to protect others who may be more at risk. That's part of being an adult.

It's nothing to do with "feeling better" its to do with not dying.

Actually yes. Where I live, you would need to wear a mask in enclosed public places.
Which is less than 5% of my average day. I'm able to handle that. I know it may be really challenging for some people of lesser resolve.

If your too weak to wear a mask, I insist you stay in complete isolation. Perhaps indefinitely.

Other people have no responsibility to protect you. Your responsibility is to protect yourself.

If you feel going out in public is too dangerous, don't go out in public.

Everyone is responsible for following the law. As I said, where i stay it's the law to wear a face covering in enclosed public spaces

Its also a basic decency to protect others by wearing a mask. Which is a small inconvenience.
Sure you don't have to. You don't have to do anything.
However if you don't wear one, at best you will be chastised and deemed to be a regressive self serving asshole.
At worst you'll be breaking the law.

Nihilism as liberation is a total bitch out. Mask up and shut up.

There is no law in the US requiring masks in public. Mandates are not laws. Laws are written by Legislatures, not executive officials.

It is not basic decency to require that people impede their breathing and put a layer of cloth on that disrupts their ability to communicate with other people.

Do you notice the difference here? You're demanding that other people take action to make you feel better. I'm stating flat out that you need to exercise personal responsibility. The vaccines are opened up to everyone who wants them who is age 16 or older. If you're worried about the virus, it is not incumbent on others to wear masks to make you feel better. It's your responsibility to get the vaccine which is freely available to you, or self-isolate.

Nobody has any responsibility towards you. You cannot force anyone else to have responsibility towards you. Grow up and exercise personal responsibility and get the vaccine so you no longer need to worry about the virus.

There is no "feel better". There is alive or dead.
If you can't handle a piece of cloth over your mouth for a few minutes a day, then that pretty pathetic.

Talking about vaccines is a strawman. I'm advocating that wearing a mask is the logical thing to do.

Not wearing a mask is completely illogical and selfish.

Would you wear a mask to visit a family member?
Knowing that doing so would reduce the chance of giving them covid

I wore masks to visit family members prior to the vaccine. I would not wear a mask to visit a family member nor would they wear a mask to visit me now that they've been vaccinated. And even there, it was only elderly family members, not younger family members.

Wearing a mask is not logical. Getting the vaccine is logical. We aren't talking about life or death. The death rate among the non-elderly is lower than that of the flu. This is nothing but you attempting to project your worthless feeling of a need for safety on everyone else.

Grow up, get the vaccine, and stfu. Or sit at home and be scared. Whatever you want to do. Just don't be sat there attempting to force other people to do what you want them to do. You have no right, and your "solution" is incredibly stupid. People wore masks for a year, yet 147 million people caught the virus. Seems the masks worked great, eh? The solution is not a mask. The solution is a vaccine. And frankly? If a person doesn't want the vaccine and would rather risk the virus? Good on them.

If you are an adult, nobody is responsible for you but you. If you want to wear a mask? Wear one. Don't demand others do so. They are not responsible for you or your petty need to feel safe.

Risk mitigation because there was no vaccine. There is a vaccine now. Anyone who opts not to get the vaccine but is scared of the virus can self-isolate.

Grow up, get the vaccine, and stfu. Or don't and huddle in your home like a scared child over a cold. Do whatever you want. Just stop demanding that others do things. Others are not responsible for your feelings. You are. You have the option to get the vaccine. If you opt not to, it's your own fault if you get the virus. And unless you're elderly or obese, the virus is unlikely to be much more than any other cold or flu to you.

Stop being a scared child. Get the vaccine, grow up, and move on with your life or huddle at home scared. Nobody needs to mask up in daily life at this point. Vaccines are free and widely available.
