Pretty sure McConnel vowed to fight the nation's recovery yesterday. People in Kentucky have been voting that dude in for decades and their state is still least ranking in almost every marker. These are people who just don't want things to work and they want to fuck your underage daughters.

Wade Sanders (D), Deputy Assistant United States Secretary of the Navy, for Reserve Affairs, was sentenced to 37 months in prison on one charge of possession of child pornography (2009).
Mel Reynolds (D-IL) was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography (1997). He was later convicted of 12 counts of bank fraud (1999).
Anthony Weiner (D-NY)[ was convicted of sending sexually explicit photos of himself to a 15-year-old girl and was made to sign the sexual offenders register. He also was sentenced to 21 months in prison, a charge that was later reduced to 18 months. He reported to prison in November 2017 and was released in May 2019 (2017).
Samuel B. Kent (R), Federal District Judge of the Galveston Division of the U.S. Southern District of Texas, was sentenced May 11, 2009, to 33 months in prison for having lied about sexually harassing two female employees (2009).
Now, that seems to indicate the sexual crimes lean heavily towards Democrats. But I'm not willing to accept this answer, Skinned seems so very certain. So, I've gone through the list of state/local convictions of officials from 2010 to today, the result regarding sex-related crimes:

(2012) He had previously been arrested for grand theft auto and driving under the influence.[63] McGee pleaded guilty to DUI and was sentenced to 180 days, serving 5 in jail, plus community service, 175 days' probation, plus fines and restitution. Detroit City Councillor Charles Pugh (D) was sentenced to 5 1/2 to 15 years for sex with a teenage boy under the age of 16. (2016)

State Representative Bill Kramer (R) was sentenced to five months in jail, after pleading no contest to two charges of sexual assault with three years' probation. (2014)
So I count 7 Republicans, 4 Democrats. It would seem that at the state/local level, at least for that timeframe, Republicans appear to be the more common offender. Overall, based on the extreme length of crimes I had to go through to pull those out though, it seems more accurate that thousands of politicians are criminal scum, and sex-related crimes are the LEAST of their rap sheet.
Note: Regarding the topic specifically, if he did it, hope he's convicted. If he's sincere and he's being extorted, hope whoever's trying to extort him is convicted. Either way.
