My wife and I were thinking of adopting a pit bull depending on how our house search goes. If we can find a place with a big yard we're gonna look for older abandoned dogs and take care of them, and my wife is very passionate about pit bulls not being overly aggressive when properly cared for.

I know two girls who were injured by pitbulls. Neither of the girls were members of the houseold that owned the dog. They were just victims of circumstance. This is one issue I have clear feelings about. If a politician was using 'make it harder to own pitbulls' as one of his campaign issues, that would sway me to vote for him.

People that don't know and understand specific dog breeds will spew anti-pitbull nonsense. This is because they only read the headlines or know this media generated reputation since humans choose them to train for fighting so often.
