"muh power grid" ideology fucked by Gawd. No redundancy, no serious regulations, i think the guy selling natural gas made much money: thats the whole point.
Btw i guess the good weather is back now, this didnt last for long.
They still have some intermittent rolling blackouts, but the grid is mostly back up and running. Just took a bunch of petroleum burned to deice the windmills. I don't know if they've gotten the downed nuclear reactor restarted yet. If they haven't, then as soon as they do, it'll be fine. If they have, then it'll balance out sooner rather than later. Hard to believe that a single safety sensor freezing was enough to cause a safety shutdown of the reactor. Just a single one. No Fukushima's in Texas I guess.
The #1 and #2 concerns right now in Texas are the hard frozen crops that're lost, and the water mains that froze and burst. It'll be a while yet.
The natural gas is fine. That's not actually a concern. Apparently the other two grids were selling power into the Texas grid to help balance it out. THEY were making a ton of money, charging not only a huge premium to the Texas grid, but massively increasing the cost to their own customers.
Power companies are going to make out like bandits here. Not only enough profit to repair the damage to all three grids, but come out ahead. About like you'd expect.

When you feel like saying something intelligent, let us know. "blah blah I love dems blah blah dems great blah blah". You're not American. Nobody gives a shit what some Nazi German likes.

thats a classic german trait unfortunately, we have too many people who are obsessed with everyone else and want to tell them how to handle things
meanwhile our own trash keeps piling up
ted cruz and AOC are both exactly whats wrong with western politicians
out of touch wannabe elitists, he is chilling in the sun while his people are freezing and she is a glorified waitress that turned into a champagne socialist, selling hoodies for 60 bucks while acting like she is helping people
Agreed on AOC. 50/50 on Cruz. Senators get vacations too, and our Oregon Senators were off on vacation while we were hit by the storm. I don't mind that. Just more curious where our FEMA help is. We've still got 80,000 without power after a week. Most of the damage has been cleaned up, but grid repair is too specialized, standard volunteers can't help that, so downed lines and transformer replacements/repairs either just takes a lot of time, or requires electrician help from other states. As far as Beto, he's a useless shill who likes to take credit for other people's actions.
