"If you tax power you hate the poor because the extra cost falls to them!"

is arrogant and shows you don't actually want to talk. You're making assertions and leave no room for input.

"It occurs to me that if you tax power they would raise rates, and this would disproportionately impact the poor."

brings up something and shows you aren't closed off to discussion.

So try it like a grown up instead of sounding like a 16 year old.

Your post lacks thought, facts, and any tangible meaning. You still live with your parents, don't you? Don't actually pay a power bill? Never attended a power coop meeting where you got to see why your prices go up and down?

When forms of power are taxed, such as the Obama coal tax, the direct power costs you're charged increase. For every customer. I just told you, the majority of customers are POOR. Not rich. Businesses do not swallow overhead increases, they raise the price of their products to cover the costs.

So, a tax on power merely makes the cost of poor people's power go up, the cost of their groceries go up, the cost of other utilities such as internet go up, the cost of EVERYTHING goes up.

You don't even have any realistic knowledge of the impact power has on the economy at large, you've completely FAILED to understand that there IS NOT ENOUGH GREEN POWER to power the US, and every single post is just bullshit about how "taxes will solve everything."

Take your own advise, shut the fuck up, and maybe you'll learn something. Chump.

Just showed you for what you are. "Raise the minimum wage, socialism socialism socialism!" and the very next post, "Let's tax the poor in a way that won't impact the rich!"

You're a hypocrite and a shill. It's not about being mad. It's about seeing you for the garbage authoritarian you are.

I'd gladly explain to you why it might not have the impact you think it would have, but you're gonna have to act your age first.

Please do, for the fourth time, back up your claim. I've lived through the power taxes of Clinton, Bush, and Obama, and the insanely increased taxes of Blue States like California, Illinois, Oregon, and Washington.

I'm fully aware of what power taxing does to the poor, and how little impact it has on the rich, and the zero impact it has on business. Gas taxes are near the same, with the highest impact being the poor as the trucking industry passes of the costs to those they're transporting goods for, who in turn toss it off to the end customer.

But by all means, endow us with your endless wisdom.

Seems you're adamant about keeping your 16 year old mindset, so I'll just let you fester in your rage.

It's endlessly entertaining that the guy who refuses to pay back his student loans, lives on the public dime, and has no realistic knowledge of what he speaks continues to project such garbage.

You cannot dispute the facts of who foots the bill for power tax increase, so you reduce yourself to schoolyard attempts at petty insults and reporting posts that destroy your "just tax the poor" "but we should help the poor!" hypocrisy.

Again, you can't even Socialism because basic math eludes you.

From a general stance, I'd tend to agree. However, how do you get past all the fear associated with meltdowns?

Further, given the power companies want new plants to be completely subsidized by the public, yet the companies pocket all the profit, how do you pass that hurdle after calming fears?

While nuclear power being expanded would be super, I just don't see how we can realistically increase it beyond what we have today.
