edit: I just cannot understand how these people look at trump and think "oh yeah, that guy is really looking out for me." Most of his cultists he wouldn't even stand in the same room with.

In no particular order. The cultural and historical circumstances have changed. The power centres in society are very different.There is no equivalent today for Nazi party violence. The Trump cult of personality is not nearly so strong.

I think getting a win is more important to them than said values unfornately. Trump still has the power to mimic Jonestown and losing his one joy in life Twitter might push him to do so eventually.

Yes, I think you're right for the most part. I think twitter was stupid for banning him before the 20th, it's terrifying to think about what he is gonna try to do.
