addressing the threat, which i fully agree china is, makes sense. but how fearmongering about ideologies, which is simultaneously used to smear anyone who supports workers rights, universal healthcare, or addressing climate change (which is the ACTUAL"greatest threat facing humanity right now"), is somehow an adequate means to achieve that, doesn't quite make sense to me.

a comprehensive policy approach, ideally coordinated with americas traditional allies, a united front against the oppressive authoritarian chinese regime and its massive cheap labour bargaining chip - that to me would be a reasonable approach. escalating tradewars because you don't understand deficits, alienating your allies, unpredictably switching between cozying up to xi and calling them a threat without actually doing anything to address it long term is hardly sound foreign policy - and pretending like some already well established propaganda would somehow contribute to solving this problem, and in fact is one of trump's core achievements, seems extremely far-fetched and silly to me - especially considering the very real and concrete downsides it has for the average american.

at the end of the day what it does is further divide and disenfranchise america's working class - it's not like there's anyone actually sympathising with china's regime...

i've stated before that i do wish the anti chinese sentiments of the trump admin had been executed by someone with greater competency to get more tangible results but there's no denying that trump brought it into the spotlight like no one before him

Where did duff say he liked his approach? he said he agreed with the anti Chinese sentiment which frankly still isn’t a point of global agreement

look at my first reply again. my issue with it is that he suggested the anti-COMMIE part was helpful in undermining china, which i don't believe to be true. in america, it has been used for decades to fear-monger, implying that anyone supporting social programs would ruin the country like the soviet union or venezuela - and considering how poorly american workers are treated compared to those in her peer countries, it's safe to say that propaganda was highly effective.
given how trump revitalised and escalated the red scare to target his domestic political opponents, i think this context is very relevant - so listing it as one of his key accomplishments seems odd to me.

and while the whole world might not be united on a common anti-chinese position, it should have been obvious that when i said no one's sympathising with the chinese regime, i was talking about the US, its main political parties and wings, and its people - or are you aware of any major groups or politicians in favour of xi and the ccp?

yes, and i generally don't have an issue with that as i agree they are a significant threat to the world order we are used to, and not in a positive way, that's why i specified why i disagree with the anti-commie sentiment you mentioned, suggesting it was helpful in undermining china, which i think is wrong when talking about the US. how trump uses it, it actually plays into chinas hands - a divided and weakened america is very much in their interest.

The pros have been that PaRD has been more active. The cons have been that PaRD has been more active.

This.

His biggest failure was his handling of the pandemic. TBH, had he managed a reasonable response at the Federal level, and not denied the problem for months, he likely would have won re-election.

but in america, it really comes down to the state level
in Canada, Justin can have unchecked reign upon the country. the entire idea of america is to have ununified statehoods that check themselves

best part of Trump's presidency is liberal tears, worst part is TDS which is basically concentrated liberal tears. wait, ummmm, that can't be right.
