I wear a mask out. I wear one while running too. I just pull it up when approaching others.

Masks are to stop you from spreading it to old people, not to stop them from getting the virus. They prevent the spread of droplets which stand on surfaces and are transmitted from hand to face (or body wound) touching. If it’s airborne a virus can penetrate a mask. If that’s the only way it spread masks wouldn’t be prescribed.

You only need it on when in droplet spreading range of others. That’s the rule here in Los Angeles. People aren’t required to wear masks when outside unless we can’t avoid being less than 6 feet from someone, and I’d expect our rules are probably among the harshest in the nation. Like if someone is across the dang street or other side of the trail you’re fine.
