By supporting the latter, you're effectively shitting on the former, without much reason. It just comes off as malicious I assume, as one is the counter phrase to the other that came first. and I suppose some bosses aren't taking kindly to that.

Poverty is the bigger connection to the problems most people face than race. Being poor fucking sucks regardless of who you are. There is definitely a racial element to it though that pushes it beyond just being poor.

A decent anecdotal example would be my two coworkers. One white, and one people seem to assume is Hispanic, but hes Hawaiian. Both grew up in the same spot in town, both dealt with the same officers constantly, both got into very almost eerie similar ruckus.

The white one has very bad anger issues, especially with authority figures, and can explode and just attack people especially when they give him orders instead of suggestions. Only one was regularly dragged outside of dash camera view distance and beaten with a night stick while they searched his vehicle, and it wasn't the white one. The guy is probably the most chill person I know even when hes under stress and should be angry as hell.

Again anecdotal, but its real to me so its got that goin for it.

Not getting too much into the movement necessarily, but the name of the movement "Black lives matter" is a garbage name for 2 reasons.
1. You are implying with such a name that larges swaths of the country do not think black people matter which is just not true. The racists in the country have become a very small minority. This isnt the 1920's anymore.
2. The name creates an "Us vs. them" mentality. You are either with us or against us. If you do not agree with everything the movement says then they use the name as a weapon to say that you must not care about black people then if you do not agree with what we have to say 100%. It leaves zero room for an intellectual conversation to discuss the differing opinions of what is negatively effecting the black community.

Maybe tou should name it and lead them, white savior, like a hollywood movie.

I made it out of the trailer park next to the somali refugee low-income shit show. Frequent police patrols and daily things happeneing between them and residents. My first friends were from Pakistan, and playing street hockey against the Somali team. Pakistan friends HATED the Somalis. There are pathways out of poverty, but there is a TON of shit to sort out beyond what the system promises as equal. College pipe-dreams that high school counselors pitch at you, post-college finance handling (fucked that up for a couple years). Imagine not having a father going through all that crap? The hard as fuck old man I had is probably the only reason I'm not in the trailer park still.

Learning how to handle your money and debt properly is probably the most valuable life skill a lot of kids miss out on.

What are you trying to say?

The BLM movement is based around certain police officers abusing their power and profiling and mistreating black people, the rest of the country sees it, condemns it, and demands justice(including the vast vast majority of other officers included in that aswell). What in the holy fuck are you talking about that we as a country act like black people dont matter.
