yes. you’re his mortal enemy lmfao

i suggested seats of several thousand dollars were filled by teachers and used my wife as a source, it was the blitzkrieg of context clues i was joking.

it's like tossing in an empty hook and reeling in 4 fish.

like im gonna spend an hour in a back and forth with a zealous german on the potential tweaks of the american education system so he can throw wikipedia articles at me to counter what ive heard over the dinner table every night for 7 years....

the 'lengths' part was less about the physical act of typing a few lines, but more about the mental gymnastics behind some of the comments.

no matter how often you walk back comments by characterising them as "throwaway" or "joke", you won't be able to rationalise away how they overwhelmingly go against bernie. so by all means, if you're done 'joking' and mocking that someone would take the education issue seriously, ask your wife who she thinks is best on education in this democratic field - instead of 'jokingly' strawmanning positions in order to dismiss them, while carefully avoiding to explicitly take a stance that someone could hold you to. you're not camboy, you can do better...

I wouldnt have to walk things back if you didnt take them 5 steps forward through 10 red flags. (plz focus on the number 10 now and make me substantiate that too).

Yang > Warren > rest in a X way tie

if u wanted my wife to educate you you could just ask, no need to give yourself carpel-tunnel just to tell me again i dont agree with Bernie, as if thats a surprise to me lmao.

Paying teachers more is one of the laziest and shittiest responses to the education problem and whenever i hear a politician utter 'we need to pay them more' i'm immediately opposed to what else they have to say.

It doesn't matter if a teacher makes 40 grand or 70 grand that's not going to change nurture factors that are magnitudes more impactful on academics. I went to a inner city middle school and high school and now i'm getting my MBA while some of my peers are working some shit jobs or selling dime bags. Difference is i had foreign parents who understand the value of education compared to some of my peers who had parents that didn't care when they skipped school or the fact that the kid thought playing basketball or football was the only good reason to show up to school. No matter how much you pay a teacher those factors wont change.

correct, education starts in the home. and most teachers would take a part time aid supporting in the classroom over a pay raise. also most teachers who are decent will say "why do my shitty peers who do the bare minimum deserve a raise, and how will that make them do more".

we just have a narrative issue where teachers are near veterans in their societal praise, when in reality many of them are only average or below average.

This isn't just an inner city problem, you basically described 28/30 of my graduating class and I was rural as fuuuuuck.

When people don't see opportunity they don't go for it. I had a parent who basically said "your life will end if you don't go to college" and so I went, but most parents around me said "you don't need college and it won't make things better even if you go because the loans will ruin your life" so their kids didn't.

swing and a miss. i'm not 'telling' you that you're against bernie - that is very obvious. i'm telling you that you engage in some pretty serious mental gymnastics to rationalise that. try to figure out the difference, it's not THAT complicated.

not a terrible analysis, the only problem with your conclusion is that this is not "one candidate just wants to throw money at the problem, thinking it's some kind of magical fix, while others have comprehensive plans to improve education - that somehow don't involve better pay for teachers" - but more like "some candidates acknowledge and want to improve the situation, and to do that, suggests (amongst other things) to pay teachers adequate wages, while others largely ignore the topic and have no concrete plans to address them".

i joked with him a month or so back about how the reputation for german humor and sense of sarcasm seems to fit him. it was just a throwaway comment based on untrue stereotypes. but i think its accurate in his case.

you joke because thats all the effort you think he's worse, then he types a 2 page essay about what serious lengths you go to malign a candidate you openly admit you dont agree with. ignoring of course that i dont agree with any candidate left in the race on even 25% of their platform, which i also told him like 3 days ago lmao.
