I think this is a lay up for any president. Not sure who would be against this besides idiots that partake in violent dog fighting like Michael Vick did.

Yeah, that's a pretty easy one. My only beef with it is simply making yet another crime a federal one. I believe animal cruelty is a felony in all 50 states already. The founders only envisioned a select few crimes to be considered federal ones, but that has gone out the window, and did a long time ago.

Within that framework, it's a good thing. The Michael Vicks of the world need to walk east until their hats float.

This is an objectively good thing imo. While I believe (correct me if I'm mistaken) every state has laws against animal cruelty, no prior federal laws have made prosecution difficult for criminals who committed offenses across multiple states. It's still weird how we're completely fine with the horrible mistreatment of food animals, but I'm not going to stop eating fucking meat anytime soon, so I guess that'll never change lol.

He's also made it abundantly clear how despicable our entire country is. It's been nice seeing our false sense of superiority slip away so drastically in such a short time. There's not a whole lot of positives for this administration, but that could also be said about the two previous administrations.

I like his stance with Mexico, now he's offering to help Mexico out with the cartel.
I'm a fan of it. I'm hoping more comes out of that and the Mexican president and the US can team up here.
