Pretty easy to just ignore whatever discussion you’re disinterested in.

If you want higher level discussions you can always engage more and engage with people who can hold a conversation.

Thanks. Still not close to fluent but I'm thinking of putting some effort into learning it again as it's quite enjoyable.

I never use Google translate, which explains why what I write in French looks like shit because I'm too lazy to switch to french keyboard and use accents where appropriate.
