The dude was predatory towards a 14 year old, consent doesn't matter, at all. Adults can easily manipulate children of that age. No one is accusing him of rape, although there is an attempted sexual assault by some definitions.

The "fact" that 14 year old consented to sexual contact with a 30+ year old isn't a "fact" at all. As a girl that age can't consent to sexual contact with a man that age. "Consent" requires the mental faculties to make those decisions. This is no different than taking money from a mentally handicapped person and then saying they gave it willingly. An adult trying to engage a sexual relation with a minor that is below the age of consent is doing something illegal.
