You told someone who supports trump to die and have regularily accused trump supporters of being racist and sexist and awful people... when the fuck has anyone ever been won over by an argument presented through nothing but insults?

Even if its true... you wont convince someone to see your side unless you talk to them like a human being and try to understand their side and make rational reasonable points and try to debate them.

Someone became president because of it. The left is starting to believe this is the way to communicate with the right. Most of the right here thinks in meme's, how do you argue with that ?

Now about the op:

Are there any special requirements for first-time voters? (Florida)
"Yes - a first-time voter who has registered by mail must provide a current utility bill, current bank statement, a paycheck, government check or voter's registration card [if proof of residence was not provided at the time of registration]."

That seems boringly complicated. What's wrong with sending a voter ID to every citizen directed at the address where they are registered to live ? (Including homeless shelters). I dont even see the use of "registering" to vote, where voting is a duty, just send the damn ID!

Personally i like the system they use in India - in order to vote you have to give your fingerprint and that leaves your finger marked as voted and the ink doesn't washes out for a few days and they have a much higher turnout than USA

Sometimes the most simple solution is the best.

Makes voter fraud impossible and gets the people to vote.

1 second finger stamp > making people spend days and lots of money to get "proper" id.

Suppression of any kind should be separate from this other stuff

Whether it's suppression in the primaries or in the general on the left and/or right it should be addressed and corrected. People should be able to easily vote without being intentionally confused or manipulated by the process or the people in charge.

A major problem in our system is that people think that their vote doesn't matter or count and suppression feeds into those concerns.

Like when Hilary was spoon fed debate answers and the DNC repeatedly put road blocks in front of Sanders and tried to push for Hilary and misled voters and tried to suppress peoples rights?

Its funny how lefties tend to ignore things when its their candidate doing it ....

I dont disagree that voter confusion is a bad thing.... and voter apathy is at an all time low ...

Trump should have been reduced to only getting votes from the most hardcore of republican votes... he should have been embaressed , and by any reasonable candidate I believe he would have been ... but they trotted out Hilary Clinton and got railroaded.

How bad of a candidate do you have to be to lose an election to Donald Trump

The aussie model would work too, make it illegal to vote except by asking for an exemption and fine people that dont vote.

1/2 the country hates Liberals and Hillary being a girl, its no wonder the establishment didn't think it was in their best interest to elect her

People think - "Haha we beat " the establishment" - but did you really?

North Korean model is even better. It is an actual free democracy:

One can only vote for or against a single candidate, brought forward by the current government.
Mandatory voting and the registration of what ppl vote for, forms a count of rebellious citizens, betraying their country.

yay

/e however the mandatory voting in Aussie and Belgium seems to somewhat work well. I'll not go in the details in this topic :)
