I've always treated wikileaks as a filterless source, its nice that they attempt to remain "neutral" by not filtering along partisan lines but part of filtering is fact checking and sometimes things are omitted because they aren't credible. It just all needs to be read and judged on a case by case basis, i hate when people hold it to some gold standard of credibility.

Of course it isn't unbiased, it is an anti-American government organization. Globally speaking, Russia is doing much worse things domestically and abroad in terms of killing people, assassinating enemies extrajudicially, supporting terrorism, outright invading nations, etc.

We have police brutality issues in cities with non-diverse police departments unrepresentative of those they serve...Russia has a secret police, an illiberal court system, it is illegal to campaign against Putin because anybody who does so gets kidnapped and thrown in a cage, their poverty is terrible, their GDP per capita is below Greece, largely considered a failed state by many. Putin is propping up dictators on a level that Reagan would have wet dreams about. What he is doing in Syria is way more massive than anything the US did in things like Operation Condor or funding Right Wing Contra death squads in Central America.

It is only a matter of time until Putin tries to punch through Ukraine and occupy a Baltic State or two, for security, as to not be completely surrounded by NATO and a more hostile China who is really sick of them being in their backyard and taking their stuff.

Wikileaks has said nothing about any of that.
