If your country made the news for things other than terrorist attacks and burkini bans I'd have more material, I'm just not crass enough to mock terrorist attacks and never will be. It's not my fault if you guys can't make the news more often.



TIL only perfect comparisons are valid comparisons. I personally have no problems admitting that a kitten and a cat are the same species, but that's just me.

TIL comparing Britain leaving the EU to the military invasion of a country resulting in over a million deaths is like comparing a kitten to a cat.

It is when the point of comparison is people being swept up in sentiments that cause the population to support foolish measures, as my comparison clearly intended.

Right now people are in support of near life sentences in the Philippines for minor drug offenses, because the drug trade there has gotten bad. people do all sorts of silly things when they are afraid.

Overall I've never understood the internet's fascination with calling out imperfect comparisons, its just weak argumentation. A comparison is by design meant to show a similarity on some level between two things that aren't necessarily identical, calling them out as not identical is just lazy. If i make a comparison and you don't understand how they're connected that's one thing, but if i've made my point complaining seems silly.

If anything I think Rich would be happy. He always loved getting proven right about the crass internet generation. The idea that Widow will get fan threads for years to come gives him a stiffy wherever he is im sure. He'd put in a nice dig about them not growing up with fathers and needing to work on their drug problems that he remembers from that one time they posted a thread that they got high that one time.
