This is bad, but the single child of filthy rich parents who got and expects to get everything he wants is worse.

Oh so the majority of black teenagers aren't getting shot.  That's good to hear.  There are a shit ton being shot though am I right?  How many in prison?  Again, a huge number.  Are you suggesting that the black communities have benefited from welfare?  I don't see a shred of evidence to support that.  I see crime, poverty, and despair.  I see a never ending cycle.

So the solution to end the cycle is to...perpetuate the cycle? Plenty of people are making it out of poverty and improving their lives with government assistance. You're wanting to shut down an entire system because a few people abuse it.

Then you have the audacity to think your education, social security, and emergency services outweighs children not starving to death.

You're giving them the death penalty for crimes they might commit a decade from now.

Edit: the only out-of-control entitlement that's of any concern is the OP's.

Welfare perpetuates the cycle. "A few people" abuse it? Gimme a break. This isn't even about it's abuse. It is about it's effects on a culture that becomes dependent on it. I'm not giving the death penalty to anyone. I'm giving them the opportunity to see that they can make it on their own. I'm giving them the chance to see a light at the end of the tunnel that isn't another train.

You haven't the slightest idea of the real statistics of welfare.

Don't be coy get to the point. You want to talk about how more white people are on welfare or? What is your point and how does it relate to what I'm saying?

You have to be a liberal because discussions with liberals usually result in making it personal.

Why are libertarians so edgy? I blame Ron and Rand Paul. You're not only a libertarian but one of them who doesn't understand the ideology. Libertarianism is a branch of liberal thought, specifically Lockean or Classical Liberalism.

I always laugh when people call me a liberal. Yes, the person who believes democracy is inherently a flawed method of governance and instead advocates an (albeit idyllic) enlightened aristocracy where major decisions lay in the hands of Platonic experts is a liberal. You caught me. Liberty is an obstacle for higher pleasures and the greater good of society. The state ought to use it's justly given right of coercive force to encourage people to follow the right way of operating society.

That's fascinating. You should go make a thread about it.

Most families who get on welfare are on for an average of two years, and the maximum time somebody can get cash assistance is five years with states being able to decrease that amount of time. For example in Ohio the maximum time somebody can get Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) aka welfare check is three years total. Time limits were imposed during the Reagan administration, and it was called welfare reform, despite not actually decreasing the amount of time a family is on welfare (on average).

Kind of a chicken little thread.
