9/11 was not an act of war or terrorism, it was just a limited military action by al-qaeda with no boots on the ground

tell me how it ends? 12 years is too long for a fairy tale

Copy pasta from the last thread about this dumb shit.

I get that it was tragic and all...but seriously...3k people died in the whole event of the towers.
10x that die in JUST car crashes each year, in the US alone.
Hell, there are more suicides in this country, per year, than that.
RX overdose?
Illegal substance overdose?
Alcohol abuse?
I really don't understand the hangup on this one event, 12 years now after it happened.
Life goes on for the rest of us, stop dwelling on the past.

Oh, and for the pro-war reres in here, 3k people died in the towers, how many troops have we lost now b/c of the war we started over that incident?
Think about that. Our government tries to justify the death of 3k people, by sending even more people to die.

3k people being murdered on US soil at once is a little different don't you think? It isn't just the loss of life but how it happened that matters.

No. No ones life being snuffed out is any different than anyone else's. Your forces have killed hundreds of thousands of innocents on Afghanistan and Iraq.

people are greedy, they dont want to be sitting in their office building finishing up their lunch break only to have some one they have never met from half way around the country crash a plane into the building they are in all over a difference of opinions.

so they fight to ensure it dosnt happen, they fight to ensure those who might think of doing it, think twice.

there is an Eye for an eye, there is to turn the other cheek, and there is the ammerican way an eye for an eye and then some to make an example - AKA punnitive damamges.

In Phil's mind, someone getting murdered is equal to someone being hit by a drunk driver. Intent is very important....that's what made Hitler worse than anyone else.

It is that somber time of year again. Perhaps we can use this thread as a "where were you when..." thread?

For me, I was living with my brother at the time, and he woke me to the news of the first crash, and I watched the second crash on live television. I lost my first attempt at quitting smoking that morning, and I cried openly when the towers collapsed.

I was at school and we watched the news in every class that day.

you seem to be citing numbers for the total civilian casualties while claiming that US forces killed all of them. while i cant necessiarly take away the blame, in that things would have been diffrent had the US never showed up, but as far as directly being responsible for the deaths of the civilians, id really like to see how many deaths are the direct result of an american attack and how many are the direct result of an attack headed by the defending nation.

You missed the commemoration of august 31st, the 8th anniversary of the al-aimmah bridge stampede in baghdad that killed 953 innocent civilians, a senseless tragedy

Thanks for the false equivalency. I see where you're going. Thanks, but no thanks.

isnt it the 9th? someones going to make another thread 2 days from now with red/bold

The whole idea is to head that off at the pass. Last year's thread was written on the 10th. Happy birthday tomorrow though.

I guess we should just stop driving, stop medicating sick people, wage the drug war harder and ban booze. Right?

How old were you then? Because I can understand kids not attaching the same importance to the event as adults at the time did.
WE started? I mean, if you want to get into really loose tangents going back decades, maybe. Otherwise, no. WE didn't start it.
