63.4% of the country is still white, according to the article. While it points out most of those are baby boomers, I love people's reaction to this. It seems there are only two ethnic groups in the U.S.-- whites and minorities.

Do people honestly think non-whites agree with each other? Even if 30% of the population was white, that's still the majority of voters. The other 70% let's say is 20% black, 20% latino, 10% Asian, and 20% is other/multiracial. Those groups aren't going to agree on everything. In other words, whites will remain in power for decades, lest we forget we're the wealthiest and most educated group in the country.

You're right.

On my paternal grandfather's side, I'm pretty pure (Irish/English mix), but my paternal grandmother is full Sicilian (mixed blood). My mothers side is 100% French Canadian which is basically a cluster fuck french blood mixed with native american/native candian blood. We can't trace our ancestry on that side more than 5 generations.

I think the rule of thumb is that if your family immigrated here before the turn of the century, you have quite a bit of mixed blood.

And of course, being around a century or so out from having actual independence and having been fucked with economically and otherwise both before and after that has no effect whatsoever. It's all because of their genetic inferiority and stuff. :(

I can understand, though. If I were so dedicated to being ignorant and refusing to educate myself, I'd have to pretend I was superior to a race of people, too. :(
