Because you can carry the gene, not express it (heterozygote), and have viable offspring.

I thought I mentioned this already?

That doesn't stop natural selection though. Recessive disadvantages still vanish over time if there's no advantage attached to counterbalance it.

Homosexuality has proven to be rooted in biological structures. People and the whole "choice" hypothesis is baloney.

Sorry, but no.

Feel free to post a link to some evidence if you want to support that outlandish claim, otherwise just expect people to dismiss it and laugh.

There are instance in which there is a heterozygote advantage.

Sickle cell and Malaria is an example of this.

Again I point out that, in many instance, homosexuality is not exclusive. There are many instance in which a homosexual person will produce children with another person.

The same idea could apply for our predecessors in which they wouldn't have retained a relationship with members of the same sex for any extended period of time.

But of course, it's baloney that people that murder are just "making bad choices" as well

the double standard.

Who or what is "Homosexuality" and how has it* proven the infinitive passive of the verb "to root"?

*he? she? it?

Waaaittttt.....

So homosexuality and murderous tendencies are biological, but not ADD, ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder?

All sexuality is rooted in biological structures... that's kind of the most important part.

A plausible theory.
Doesn't have anything to do with the "society oppression" theory though ;)

It does.

As society has developed it has placed pressure on individuals and their sexuality to behave in the way that it is defined.

There are still homosexual men and women that are in heterosexual relationships and are having children. The reason they are still in this relationship is from the fear of societies reaction to their coming out.

On the flip side of that... Society also pins gay men and women to remain gay. Once you come out, you're out. If you decide you want to have sex with a member of the opposite sex, you run the risk of alienating yourself by stepping all over your prior stance.

While I don't think either of my ideas are absolute, I do feel that there is a bit of both happening at the same time.

Or perhaps all sexual behavior is really on a spectrum rather than a straight-up hetero/homo distinction, and the presence of this gene is powerful enough to far outshadow female attraction in male carriers.
