1. Acts 2:38 was NOT talking about baptism of the Holy Spirit. It says -
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
If you are being baptized by the Holy Spirit.. why do you not receive the Holy Spirit until AFTER baptism? Seems kind of odd no? They are two separate things. It also says "be baptized" for the forgiveness of your sins. So it seems as though our sins are not forgiven until then no? You are saying I am making more of the scriptures than what they say, but you are the one adding scripture that isn't there.
2. Do you believe Repentance is essential to salvation? If so Romans 10:9 mentions nothing about repentance..
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
So based on your logic, since it isn't mentioned in that verse.. it's not needed?
I believe that turning to Jesus Christ for salvation is repentance. What doesn't romans 10:9-10 meantion baptism? Because it's not necessary for salvation. Ac 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
When he asked them what he must do to be saved, was baptism meantioned? Nope. AFTER he believed, he was baptized, not for salvation, but as an act of obedience.
