LMAO.
Did you have a point to back up your ridiculous laughter? Francis Crick was high on LSD when he and James Watson discovered DNA. It's a well documented concept that hallucinogenic experiences are often accompanied by revelation. In this case, a highly important revelation which contained the building blocks of life. You're so quick to judge. Everything in life can be both good and bad, depending on the context, this is also true of drugs. Especially with a country that runs on drugs and chemicals, very unhealthy drugs and chemicals at that such as caffeine, acetaminophen, fluoride and so on, I would think this concept could be appreciated by now.

Heh that is interesting.

But will someone remind me again about why the hell we would be going by an ancient calendar to get the date of the end of the world??
I don't believe anybody was saying it's going to be the end of the world. I don't think the Mayans are the only piece to it either. But to answer your question somewhat, the Mayans were a very highly sophisticated culture in terms of astrology and mathematics. Even for our standards their accomplishments were great.
