In Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, God is referred to with masculine pronouns not because God is biologically male, but because the scriptural texts consistently use that language. In classical theology, God is understood as immaterial, not embodied, not sexually differentiated. “He” functions grammatically and relationally, not anatomically.
