Under Stalin, I absolutely agree yes the USSR was what I would call semi-national socialism. The key difference is the Nazi regime was racial and the USSR was not, that is, Stalin was inclusive to people who weren't ethnic Russians

So your argument is ignore the millions of Soviets that died defending their homeland from the Nazis. Ignore all the German Leftists, Socialists, Communists that Hitler specifically went after his rise to power and murdered? And now they're magically allied. They aren't magically allied, moscow wanted to be allied with nazi germany and continue comitting atrocities/land-grabs together just like they did in Poland, but hitler said no and launched an invasion into ussr.
