One of the most common posts i saw on threads (a goldmine for moronic takes if you like reading them as i do) was "if u voted trump you're out of my life forever, block me or i'll block you".

when you've decided an echo chamber is not just happenstance but preferable, well, its over for you.

when you've decided there's literally only one reason people can support trump or republicans, hate of minorities, well, its over for you.

2016 may have brought lessons but they were mostly forgotten by the time 2020 came to wash them away entirely.

The media has kept the collective left blind, deaf, & dumb for 8 years

They have 8 years of catching up to do now as they re-think their lives and their worldview

The time for them to repent & be reborn anew is now.

nah, the media is only a small sliver of the problem.

most liberals dont turn on a major TV network even on a weekly basis one time. they dont have washington post subs.

the problem is actually more organic and self inflicted, they get their "news" from social media and forums. look at any popular subredit.

liberals have worked their way into moderation and pushed out any dissenting opinion to be replaced by other sycophants.

they follow 500 people on twitter whom they all share the same opinions.

its the end result of woke culture, homogenization of norms and beliefs with no patience or grace for disagreement. the snake eats itself.

but in modern america liberal media isnt for liberals, its maga fuel to farm soundbytes. even online liberal media is just to share headlines, hardly any of them read for context. and its all in line with what they already think, it doesnt steer it rides the waves.

I'd argue the media platforms DO play a huge role beyond the bias and spin* they do. Facebook, YouTube, X, Reddit, Truth social are all echo chambers. They all boast social commentary, opinions likes like some virtual public forum. In reality, they all have their own form of dystopian censorship playing into the discourse between users.

A dissenting post on Reddit is met with immediate cancelation down votes, if it gains positive momentum, an edge lord mod will erase it and your account. YouTube silently scrubs your comments. The others have similar issues with their facade of being a virtual public forum and the reality that they are mechanisms to earn the company money by sowing unrest

As our society advances and the public civil discourse moves online, it's essential that the freedom of speech on the platforms that advertise 'public comments' be unmolested.

In recent years, the YouTube/Google censorship has been insane. Like they replaced dictionary logic for filtering comments with bias liberal AI.

You basically can't say anything bad about Israel on YouTube unless it has no* substance. Reference a statistic, odds are it's censored. Criticism Kamal, censor. Promote something Trumpy, censor

Sorry for typos, on phone and have sausage fingers

I agree entirely with this whole post, when i said "media" i means MSNBC, CNN, etc. legacy media.

My view is largely that the older left wing generations were radicalized by legacy news media (e.g. CNN, MSNBC, and "esteemed" rags such as The Atlantic, Washington Post, New York Times) while the younger left wing generations were radicalized by social media (e.g. Reddit (the worst offender IMO), old Twitter, Instagram etc.)

While the old legacy media pushes false narratives, slander, hoaxes, malignment whatever you call all the bullshit, the newer social media platforms then parrot these narratives, hoaxes & defamation while silencing any opinion that goes against the narrative (Reddit mods, Twitter mods, etc.)

They work hand-in-hand to radicalize both the older generation and the younger generation - the younger generation appeal to the narratives & authority of the older generation (legacy media)

So then the whole regime matrix of indoctrination is indeed an echo chamber. People with the wrong opinions are dehumanized, viewed as trash, slandered as Nazis etc. so much that ANY criticism whatsoever is not allowed - this is what enables the most unhinged extreme ideologies to go unchallenged, and spread like a virus spreads in a host. Stuff like believing in transgenderism, believing that women are just as capable as men, believing that muslims just want to live in peace with their neighbours, believing that giving free drugs to drug addicts will help them get off the drugs, etc. Madness reigns where dissent is proscribed
