Industry cynically co-opting social movements purely for their gain makes perfect sense. It defined the 80s, 90s, 00's. If representation of lesbians in hijabs is trendy, a company like McDonalds would put it in a super bowl commercial if they thought it was going to turn a profit by enticing cuckolds to go stuff grease down their gullet. But an industry self-destructing because DEI movements gained so much momentum they became unstoppable derailed trains? Its only explained by human incompetence, a demented society, an idiocracy. It goes into what I've said many times dismissing conspiracy theorists trying to connect lengths of string on a whiteboard to claim da jews are doin it, the only rational explanation is that there is an epidemic of untalented, self-serving people in positions where their word holds dogmatic weight, people failing upwards and rotting institutions from within. It could be the FBI, Disney, the Secret Service, Sony Entertainment. They aren't in a grand conspiracy, its just a world run by people who can't tie their own shoelaces
I literally only play the original D2:LoD Hardcore. No other games. No other consoles.
Gaming died a decade ago and all they can do is stir around all the dogshit games with their "in game purchases" / "Pixel profits".
The whole notion of gamers are far right for me only has to do with the more obvious fact that FPS games are generally the most popular(not saying every gamer likes "guns" or owns a "gun") but even my nephew who is 12 will say, "I like Trump because Kamala sounds like a moron". He's 12. Is that brainwashing by left leaning gaming mega corporations or is that my nephew seeing what's painfully obvious on "Tik-Tok" and "Twitch" that Trump is "cool" and Kamala is "not".
I will likely never buy another game(even if its free) because I don't support the direction "gaming" took. Went woke but not BROKE so they are still trying to shovel it down our throats.
I'm glad I was able to own an N64 / Gameboy Color/ PS2/ Xbox 360/ PC I've gotten in 20++ years of solid gaming and I'm ok with knowing the industry/games/player base will never be the same.
edit: Grew up during the "golden age" of gaming so I can't really complain. Not surprised when I see Madden 50, CoD Black Ops:47, and Diablo 9 and look at the gameplay and go "Wow same game why am I spending money on a game that's virtually the same and even the graphics can't get better". Total idiot I'd be if I bought these games.
edit2: Would you buy the same shirt AGAIN every year because they told you "it's a new material" or "it's different". Very unlikely yet gamers give in to this shit and keep supporting "Blizzard" even though the only way to teach them a lesson is to "not buy their shit".
edit3: This can be seen across all industries and people are suppose to "vote with their dollars". "I hate Apple and Nike slave factories". "What kind of phone and shoes do you have?". "Apple and Nike!"
