I think we'll very safely rule out this was staged based solely on the fact it hit a fraction of an inch from his head, since that's implausible with modern weapons technology, even air currents and wind conditions- invisible eddies- can make more than that difference at any reasonable range.
We'll hear a few things in coming hours or maybe days that will probably have some importance;

What kind of gun was actually used? People on twitter already talking about bb guns or pellet guns, but those were clearly gunshots and I've shot plenty of all three and there's no comparison at that distance
Who was the gunman? Oh boy we all know what kind of a shitshow it will be the moment a name comes out and his social media history starts getting searched up and deleted in real time

The secret service is very clearly heard on the footage in my last few posts waiting until they say the shooter is down before getting Trump up and out of the venue, so there's about a 99.99% chance this is just redundant information that the gunman was killed by the secret service. Trump is confirmed as 'safe' and 'fine' ie non-life threatening condition / minor injury. I combed that footage of the people behind Trump and I really don't think anyone else was struck at least on that camera angle, which in a place that crowded would be unusual. Unclear if anyone else was hit

Dave McCormick of Fox (local affiliate? iunno) reporting that he was in the stands at the front row and witnessed one person in the crowd behind him get shot, he thinks in the head
And one person is seen being hauled away on a stretcher, possibly dead, from the stands

Now that's just bits and pieces. The gunman could have been in the crowd and killed by return fire, but more likely that's some innocent bystander who took a bullet meant for Trump and the gunman was in front of Trump not behind.

From his witness description it sounds like the person he saw get shot was definitely not a gunman, so there's a good chance its 1 dead victim, 1 gunman dead, trump minor injury, unknown if any other injuries/deaths
