i agree, but that doesnt mean it wasnt the literal best arpg for nearly a decade. you dont have a path of exile without diablo 2

from my experience, it seems more like a perfect storm of events. not overrated or by accident. the game set the bar for core arpg values that modern arpgs still can't even come close to
