The reason I support legalizing marijuana is that it's actually safer than alcohol, a substance that has been legal for about a century now. Another reason is that we shouldn't allow a few bad apples (the few who abuse it) influence our decision on whether to legalize/ban something or not. Alcohol can be blamed for broken families and many deaths (from DUI mostly) but we aren't gonna ban alcohol now, are we?

Marijuana isn't the problem. Stupid/selfish people is the problem, and we shouldn't punish good, moral citizens by banning it. Marijuana has a lot of benefits and allowing it to be legal will allow universities to study it to learn what more it can be used for. I'm certain there is plenty more we can learn about this plant.
