It has been a year and a half since roe was overturned. We all remember the countless nonsense about how so many women will die, die die die women will die and blood is on the hands of pro lifers.

So here we are almost two years later. I looked for numbers showing how many women died because of this decision so we can go over the numbers. A search does nothing but bring up countless articles from two years ago about how women will die, dead women, littering the streets. This is what today is supposed to be like, abortion loving demons. Dead women literally everywhere. Babies being born in back Allie’s. Toddlers holding signs asking for money because their mother was murdered during pregnancy.

I made this topic a year ago where an article showed that in Texas, a state where in 2020 there were just under 1,000,000 abortions, it was like 12 women in the sixth months or so after they became illegal again died during pregnancy. Showing a swing of 500,000-12 lives saved to lives lost.

Curious what the numbers are now. If I had to guess we are around 1,500,000-100. I cannot find articles that are willing to admit how wrong they were two years ago though, curious.

Imagine not searching hard enough.

edit - Oh, but lemme guess. Them peskie OBGYNS are libtards that have no understanding of conception, right? Go back to Faux news.

Dude literally posted the same article on page one. I quoted this article and responded to it. Please spare your credibility and refrain from throwing stupid fucking articles like this into a “debate” in the future.

It is cute how you both thought an article that simply said “this % of obgyn fear this” “this % of obgyn fear this” is substantive and will somehow make me chang my mind about the effectiveness of abortion bans.

Or do you get dopamine hits by saying Fox News to people on the internet?

Do you agree that the law currently in Texas requires revamping to allow for adequate medical exceptions?

For example the lady with the trisomy 18 fetus that the Texas Supreme Court barred from medical care - ultimately leading to unnecessary postponing and increased complication rate by delaying this procedure since she had to leave the state to get it done

Like in what rational modern world are we forcing child barring women to carry and deliver trisomy 18 babies

This is a woman that wanted to have more children, iirc she had 2 already, and in your 30s time is not on your side

I do not. I am 100% outright zero abortions.

That being said I would be okay for there being protections in place for these 1 in millions cases to make sure they aren’t accused of committing a crime for leaving the state to get whatever procedures done. I am proud to live in a state that put their foot down and turned this into a no give issue.

I think that’s pretty messed up but we will agree to disagree

no chance at a meaningful life, just suffering for the mother , suffering for the baby, and the potential for decreased child births related to the trauma of the ordeal

Not every mother can afford to pick up and leave the state for medical care like this fortunate mother was allowed to do

As much as I feel for people in those situations I simply do not think there is any subjective morality here. There are more than enough states which will happily perform any abortions, some for any reason whatsoever. If there is a moral high ground on either side of the issue fine, I stand where I stand.
